What is Body Movement?Don't dance with just your arms and feet, groove with your whole body! A fun and challenging workout starting with the basic head-to-toe isolation exercises for different body parts and progressing into applied body movements in dance steps and moves with strong Salsa, Latin and Afro-Cuban dance flavor. All done to infectious Salsa, Latin and Afro-Cuban rhythms. Developing body movement is a process that takes time and sweat to develop. The focus on Salsa dance floors all over the world is now on using body movements to style and dance to music. Body Movement IntroThis 8-week course introduces and breaks down the concepts and movements. We walk you through the movement and exercises to acquire range and coordination. Suitable for all levels. Body Movement 1These 4-week courses continue from the Intro and aim to develop the students' range, coordination and control for natural body movement done to music and provide an underlying foundation for students to develop their own style and groove when dancing. Completion of the Body Movement Intro course is recommended before you take this class. Afro-Latin Movement (By audition only) These are on-going classes for dancers who have an understanding of the range and quality of Afro-Latin body movement. By audition only, these classes consist of exercises and choreography that incorporate these Street Latin movements. |
