CSTD offers a unique position amongst the dance societies of the world, catering for all major forms of dance. All grades of examinations for amateur and professional dancers are conducted under separate syllabi. The CSTD is a member body of Australian Dancing Board. The society conducts yearly examinations, competitions, workshops and professional teacher development courses. CSTD places a strong emphasis on the four Es; Expression, Education, Encouragement and Enjoyment.
The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is an international teacher education and awarding organisation for dance. Leading the world in dance education and training, the Royal Academy of Dance is recognised internationally for the highest standards of teaching and learning. RAD aims to promote and enhance knowledge, understanding and practise of dance internationally by educating and training teachers and students and by providing examinations to reward achievement, so preserving the rich, artistic and educational value of dance for future generations.
Jitterbugs Swingapore® offers acrobatic examinations under the Acrobatic Arts syllabus. Created by a successful studio owner with decades of experience, Acrobatic Arts runs training and certification courses for dance teachers in the art of AcroDance. The program is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in five divisions of AcroDance: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling. Developed with input from professionals and experts in ballet, modern dance, jazz, contortion, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, sport acrobatics, yoga, acro yoga, pilates, physiotherapy, hand balancing and more, you will not find a more comprehensive program. Simple thoughtful progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and summersaults to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage!
Our vocal students will prepare for yearly LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art). Weicheng started dancing in his late teen years, he received intensive training in various genres of dance including Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary and Hip Hop from Jitterbugs Swingapore®. He currently holds a full Modern Jazz Teaching Diploma with the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD).
Dwayne graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York. A performer for 19 years, his local and US credits include The LKY Musical, Jr. Claus, Spring Awakening, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Romeo & Juliet, Hot Pants, Beauty World, Army Daze, Snow White, Hansel & Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, Pinocchio and Forbidden City.
Caitlin started dancing at the age of four, being a student at Jitterbugs since 2008. She is trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical and Contemporary under the tutelage of Ms Tiffany Wrightson, Ms Tiffany Tallon, Ms Shanti Gomes, Ms Shermaine Heng and Ms Natalie Clarke. She will be finishing the CSTD syllabus for Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Contemporary in 2020.
Emma started dancing at the young age of three and has been dancing with Jitterbugs Swingapore® for the past 10 years. She joined Modern Dance in secondary school under the guidance of local company Frontier Danceland’s Low Mei Yoke. Additionally, she also became a PULSE Scholar with Frontier Danceland in 2017.
Jennifer’s passion for dance began at three years old. She has since then, trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Contemporary. Joining Jitterbugs as a student in 2014, she has been under the tutelage of Ms Tiffany Wrightson, Ms Tiffany Tallon, Ms Natalie Clarke, Ms Shanti Gomes and Ms Shermaine Heng.
Natasha Went first fell in love with dance at the age of two and since has taken every possible opportunity to be on stage. In 2007, she joined Jitterbugs to continue to develop and train as a dancer under the guidance of Ms Tiffany Wrightson, Ms Natalie Clarke, Ms Shanti Gomes, Ms Shermaine Heng and Ms Tiffany Tallon.
Sabril’s passion for dance started at the age of nine with Hip Hop at the Little Arts Academy. Gradually, he took up CSTD Jazz, Ballet and Contemporary with Jitterbugs Swingapore, and furthered his training in Latin American Ballroom with The Dancesport Academy.
Sarah began dance at Jitterbugs Swingapore® since she was five under the guidance of Ms Tiffany Wrightson. She will be completing the exam syllabus for Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Contemporary at the end of this year under the guidance of Ms Shanti Gomez, Ms Tiffany Tallon, Ms Tiffany Wrightson, Ms Shermaine Heng, Ms Natalie Clarke and Ms Wu Qianyi.
Taesha donned her first pair of dance shoes at the age of five and has been enjoying the journey for the past 10 years. She first joined Jitterbugs in 2017 and has training in Tap, Jazz, Contemporary and Ballet under the guidance of Ms Tiffany Wrightson, Ms Tiffany Tallon, Ms Shermaine Heng, Ms Shanti Gomes and Ms Wu Qianyi.

Siti commenced with Jitterbugs in March 2020. She assists with front desk operations, administrative support and helps out with the events and performances. With her friendly and cheerful personality, she looks forward to building a good rapport amongst the Jitterbugs Swingapore® family.
Our three dance studios are fully equipped with state of the art sound systems, Omara sprung dance floors and two completely mirrored walls. Studio 1 and 2 have ballet barres along two of the walls and studio 3 has ballet barres along one wall. Additional portable barres are housed in our storeroom and can be used in all studios.
