Jitterbugs Swingapore® offers group and private vocal classes to students of all ages. Classes are taught by Mr Dwayne Tan and are held on Saturdays and Sundays. Both private and group vocal students will have the opportunity to perform in our annual production, and will study and take the LAMDA Syllabus Examination at the end of the year.

LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) is one of the UK’s oldest and most respected awarding bodies. LAMDA has been offering practical examinations in performance subjects for over 130 years. Jitterbugs will be offering examinations in Solo Musical Theatre to both our group and private vocal students. Examinations will be taken in November of each year.

  • Junior Group Vocal Class (6-9yrs): LAMDA Entry Level
  • Intermediate Group Vocal Class (10+yrs): LAMDA Level 1

Private students will be entered into the examination level Mr Dwayne deems correct for each individual in accordance with the syllabus requirements.

Each group class will commence with a vocal and physical warm up. Students will then move on to vocal and breathing exercises to develop correct technique, as well as working on performance pieces of various styles. Monologues and scene work will also be covered. Private classes will follow a similar format with the benefit of every warm up, exercise and performance choice being tailored to the individual.

  • Term One: Open technical training and performance work
  • Term Two: Open technical training and concert preparation (private students will learn the performance piece in their private classes then join with the group for combined rehearsals)
  • Term Three: Open technical training and performance work
  • Term Four: LAMDA Examination preparation
